Proquest allows students to share the bibliographic information of their dissertation (not the content, unless it's open access) with the academic world on sites like Web of Science, ProQuest Dissertations, and Google Scholar. At an additional cost to the student, ProQuest offers an "open access" option, which would make a student's dissertation publicly available to the academic world. Students can also obtain a physical copy of their dissertation through ProQuest. However, ProQuest Dissertations is not considered a publishing platform.
Students, please confer with your dissertation advisors and with the instructions provided by your college to make sure you comply with their rules and guidelines.
