Endnote

This guide is intended to instruct students, staff, and faculty on using Endnote, a citation generating tool which is available on our library computers.

In this video, this librarian uses the "online search" feature in Endnote to find articles on dental hygiene. Then, she selects the articles she wants to read and adds them to her Endnote group called "dental hygiene." Once the article citations are added to this Endnote group, she selects all of them and clicks the page & magnifying glass icon, which is the "find full text" tool.

Then, she waits for the "find full text" tool to search for a PDF of each article. This tool works on one article citation at a time, and takes several seconds to complete. The "find full text" tool searches through Pubmed for PDFs. She finds that six of the articles have a PDF publicly available online, and the rest do not.

She can still look for a PDF copy online (using Google scholar) for the other articles. Endnote may not find PDFs of articles available in open access journals.
