Endnote

This guide is intended to instruct students, staff, and faculty on using Endnote, a citation generating tool which is available on our library computers.

In this video, the Librarian follows these steps: 

  • Goes to the CNU Database page 
  • Opens "Academic Search Complete" 
  • Searches for articles on mental health and medication 
  • Scrolls through the results and downloads citations.
  • Two ways to download citations: 
    • First, the Librarian downloads one citation:
      • Clicks on an article 
      • Finds the "export" button on the right side 
      • Selects the RIS file for downloading 
      • Double-clicks the RIS file, which opens in Endnote (successfully saved) 
    • Then, the Librarian multiple citations at once: 
      • Clicks the "folder" icon to the right of the articles she wants 
      • Goes to her "folder" at the top right of the screen, where her selected articles are saved 
      • Selects all articles in her folder 
      • Clicks "Export" and selects the RIS file 
      • Double-clicks the RIS file, which opens in Endnote (successfully saved)
