What is library instruction?

"Library instruction" subjects include: research skills, information literacy skills, and library tools. We offer many different forms of library instruction:

  • Orientations: Introduction to the library and its services. These are conducted upon request both virtually and in the classroom. Request for the library to make an in-person visit via this Microsoft form
  • Virtual workshops: Focused one-hour sessions on particular topics, including: using the databases, citations with Endnote, systematic review searching, choosing a research topic, and more. If there is a workshop you would like the library to help with or conduct, please email us. We're receptive to requests.
  • Research appointments: Half-hour sessions where a librarian can provide guidance and advice for your research (at any point in the research process). Can be an individual appointment or a small group.
